Adopt a Station : Partnership with First Scotrail

Burnside Station was adopted by the Burnside Community Council in June 2008. First Scotrail generously funded a rolling programme of decorative planting organised by the Community Council.

Four barrel planters were located on the east platform in June 2008.

In June 2009  four barrel planters were sited on the west platform.

The barrels and the plants have survived remarkably well – with little or no vandalism!!

A further four barrels have been added ( June 2010 ) at the west end of the station.

The  barrels now display plaques acknowledging the generosity of  Scotrail in supporting Burnside in Bloom over the last three years.

The displays on the West Platform are particularly good this year ( 2011 ).
